Skincandy was founded in 1995 by August Worchell in San Francisco. August has always been passionate about ink making, constantly pushing the envelope to make a better product, "I believe in and love what I do...". August lived up the road from Ed Hardy's Tattoo City in the beginning, making friends with an artist working there who helped him learn to make ink along with many other well respected tattooers. Skincandy quickly grew making a larger spectrum of tattoo colors that were available at the time. Skincandy introduced Black light inks for tattooing in 2000. In 2006 Skincandy was the exclusive tattoo ink used in the hit reality TV show, Miami ink.
